IBM and ARM have announced that the two companies will be partnering on advanced semiconductor technologies designed to power the next generation of mobile gadgets. The goal is to create 14nm chips that will be even more suited for better power management, longer battery life and better multimedia support. This isn’t the first time that IBM and ARM have teamed up together, but this initiative is much larger in scope. ARM will power the processor IP and it will be tuned to IBM’s manufacturing processes.
